I do not accept that it is a gun issue. Gun’s are there and the people walking into schools and murdering children aren’t going to be concerned with breaking a law to get a gun. What I find most disturbing is that we can’t invest in protecting our schools. New designs, one-way entrances, and exits, an armed police officer at each school, impenetrable doors — Israel has designed schools that are virtually impossible to attack. With the vast amounts of pork we spend on ridiculous programs, when will our government care enough to invest in steps that really would keep our kids safe?

They won’t because each school shooting is a hot-button politicized topic that further divides and gives all the talking heads plenty of air time. The answer is really pretty simple, build or retrofit our schools to be safer.
